Google is changing its mobile operating system’s branding by espousing “ Android ” with a capital A rather than all lowercase letters. The company is also streamlining the bug droid totem to a 3D icon.
The hunt mammoth said that the new Android totem takes rudiments from the Material Design system to match Google’s branding. The company is also refreshing the Android totem’s typeface, so we could probably see these changes within the operating system updates as well.
This rebranding isn’t as notable as the one in 2019 when the company decided to gutter the cate names like KitKat or Lollipop to relate to major Android updates to borrow interpretation figures. At that time, Google mentioned that the Android device ecosystem had a 2.5 billion bias. With moment’s advertisement that number has reached 3 billion so growth hasn’t been as explosive in the once four times.
“ We believe our brand system and how we show up visually to the world as Android should reflect Android’s core morality of being open, iterative, and inclusive. That’s why we’re participating in an update to our visual identity that more represents our Android community and it’s also a lot of fun, too, ”
Jason Fournier, director of Android consumer brand operation, said in a statement.
Google is streamlining the bug droid’s full-body icon to a three-dimensional bone for an easy “ transition between digital and real-life surroundings. ”
Google mentioned that the streamlined branding along with the new 3D totem will start appearing on Android Bias and other places this time. The company is hosting an event to advertise the Pixel 8 series on October 4. The new Android branding will likely make an appearance there.
